Strata – Various Pie
Ingredients
- ¼ cup chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic crushed, chopped
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 1 package of frozen spinach
- 3 eggs
- 1 egg separated
- 2 frozen regular or deep dish pie shells thawed for minutes
- 1 package 175g sliced cooked ham
- 1 package 200 g sliced Swiss cheese
- In a large frying pan saute onion and garlic in butter. Add spinach cover and cook until well heated. Drain very well, set aside.
- Whisk together 3 eggs and 1 egg white.
Instructions
- In one pie shell layer have the meat, cheese and spinach, cover with half the beaten egg mixture. (approximately ½ cup) Repeat layers.
- Invert second pie shell over top, crimp edges. Brush top with remaining egg yolk mixed with a bit of water. Slit surface.
- Bake pie on cookie sheet 30 to 35 minutes or until golden. Serve warm or cool.
- Preheat oven to 400 degree F.
