Cinnamon Brown Sugar Walnut Pie: A Sweet Slice of Comfort
There’s something magical about a homemade pie—its buttery, flaky crust, the rich filling that melts in your mouth, and the warm, comforting aroma that fills your kitchen. Among the many variations of pies, Cinnamon Brown Sugar Walnut Pie stands out as a true treat for the senses. It’s a simple yet decadent dessert, perfect for a cozy night in or as the finishing touch to a family gathering. Let’s dive into why this pie should be your new favorite and how to make it.
The Comforting Delight of Cinnamon Brown Sugar Walnut Pie
Few desserts capture the essence of warmth and nostalgia quite like Cinnamon Brown Sugar Walnut Pie. With its rich, caramel-like filling and the cozy aroma of cinnamon, this pie is a true celebration of simple yet indulgent flavors. Whether you’re baking for a special occasion or simply craving a homemade treat, this pie is bound to become a favorite in your recipe collection.
A Classic with Timeless Appeal
Cinnamon Brown Sugar Walnut Pie is reminiscent of classic Southern sugar pies, such as chess pie or shoofly pie, where a few pantry staples transform into something magical. The combination of brown sugar and butter creates a luscious, almost toffee-like filling, while cinnamon adds warmth and depth.
Unlike fruit pies, which highlight seasonal produce, this pie is perfect for any time of year. Its ingredients are always readily available, making it a go-to dessert when you need something sweet and satisfying without an elaborate shopping list.
Ingredients You’ll Need
This pie is made with simple, wholesome ingredients:
- Pie crust – A classic butter or shortcrust pastry provides the perfect flaky base.
- Brown sugar – The star of the show, offering deep caramel-like sweetness.
- Eggs – Help create structure and hold the filling together.
- Condensed Milk – Lends a smooth, creamy consistency.
- Cinnamon – Infuses the pie with its signature warm spice.
- Vanilla extract – Enhances the overall flavor profile.
- Salt – A pinch to balance the sweetness.

How to Make Cinnamon Brown Sugar Walnut Pie
- Prepare the Pie Crust: If you are making your own crust. Roll out your dough and fit it into a 9-inch pie dish. Chill for about 30 minutes, then pre-bake the crust to ensure a crisp bottom.
- Make the Filling: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, eggs, heavy condensed milk, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
- Bake the Pie: Pour the filling into the pre-baked crust and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 50 – 55 minutes, or until the center is set but slightly wobbly.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the pie to cool completely before slicing. Serve it at room temperature or slightly chilled, with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Why You’ll Love This Pie
