David Cassidy (1950–2017) was an American singer, actor, and teen idol best known for his role as Keith Partridge on the hit 1970s TV series The Partridge Family. With his boyish charm, soulful voice, and shaggy good looks, Cassidy became one of the biggest pop culture icons of the decade.
Born in New York City to actor Jack Cassidy and actress Evelyn Ward, David grew up surrounded by entertainment. His breakthrough came in 1970 when The Partridge Family debuted, launching him to instant fame. The show’s success led to a booming music career, with chart-topping hits like “I Think I Love You,” “Cherish,” and “Daydreamer.”
